Professor Seán Kennelly is Clinical Director of Re:Cognition Health Dublin and one of Ireland’s leading authorities on memory disorders, Alzheimer’s disease and brain health. As a Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine at Tallaght University Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor of Medical Gerontology at Trinity College Dublin, he has dedicated his career to improving the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cognitive disorders through outstanding clinical care, research and innovation.

Over more than two decades, Professor Kennelly has helped thousands of people and their families navigate the uncertainty that accompanies memory concerns and cognitive change. He is recognised for his expertise in the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, combining meticulous clinical assessment with advanced cognitive testing, state-of-the-art blood biomarkers, neuroimaging and precision diagnostics to provide timely, accurate and personalised diagnoses.

His research has contributed to advances in early diagnosis, precision medicine and the implementation of innovative treatments, helping shape contemporary dementia care both in Ireland and internationally.

He also leads several of Ireland’s most significant collaborative dementia research initiatives, including Dementia Research Network Ireland and Dementia Trials Ireland, working with clinicians, scientists and industry partners to accelerate the development of better diagnostics and treatments while improving access to cutting-edge care for patients.
