Professor Dr Derk Wolfgang Krieger is an internationally recognised Consultant Neurologist with more than 30 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of neurological disorders.
Renowned for his expertise in cognitive neurology, cerebrovascular disease, neuroimmunology and precision medicine, he is committed to delivering highly personalised, holistic care that considers every aspect of a patient’s neurological health, lifestyle, risk factors and long-term wellbeing.
Holding both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Professor Krieger has held senior academic appointments as Professor of Neurology and Cerebrovascular Diseases throughout a distinguished international career spanning clinical practice, research and medical education. His work has helped advance understanding of stroke medicine, Alzheimer’s disease, brain health and precision neurological care, while his research has contributed to innovations in diagnostics and treatment for complex neurological conditions.
Professor Krieger held senior leadership positions across Europe and internationally, leading multidisciplinary teams specialising in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological disorders. He is recognised for integrating advanced neuroimaging, fluid biomarkers, genetic testing and precision diagnostics into everyday clinical practice, enabling earlier diagnosis and more targeted, individualised treatment. He is also regarded as a regional authority on Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive health and is a regular invited speaker at leading international neurology and neuroscience congresses.
