Dr Fleur Cantle

Dr Fleur Cantle is a Principal Investigator at Re:Cognition Health, specialising in clinical trials for early Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment. Since joining Re:Cognition Health, she has led or contributed to a portfolio of major international studies at the forefront of dementia research, including the TrailblazerALZ2 donanemab programme, the Bepranemab (UCB0107) tau-targeted therapy trial, the Clarity AD (lecanemab) monoclonal antibody study, XPro1595, and the AlzCare medical device trial, giving her direct, current experience across the newest generation of disease-modifying and biomarker-led approaches to Alzheimer’s disease.

Alongside her trial work, Dr Cantle leads the clinic’s apheresis service and oversees the care of private patients receiving anti-amyloid treatment (ATT), and is currently working towards publishing data from this clinical experience — bridging the gap between trial evidence and real-world treatment delivery.

What sets Dr Cantle apart is the path she took to get here. She began her career with an intercalated degree in Psychology, before training in medicine and becoming a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at King’s College Hospital, a role that demands rapid, accurate assessment of cognition, capacity and neurological function under pressure. In parallel, she built a second career as a medical educator, culminating in her current role as Honorary Reader in Medical Education at King’s College London, where she leads on curriculum design, assessment governance and inclusive education for the final years of the MBBS programme. She also serves as Academic Lead for Clinical Partnerships, building collaborative medical education programmes with institutions worldwide. She holds an MSc in Healthcare Leadership (Distinction), a PGCert in Clinical Education, and Fellowships of both the Higher Education Academy and the Academy of Medical Educators.

This dual grounding, in the science of how the brain is assessed, and in the science of how people learn, understand and retain information — shapes the way Dr Cantle approaches trial participants and their families. She is practised at explaining complex neurocognitive concepts and trial procedures in plain, accessible terms, at designing clear assessment processes, and at supporting people through what can be an anxious and unfamiliar experience with patience and precision.

Dr Cantle is GCP trained and has been an NHS clinical trials investigator since 2013, with a long track record across NIHR and industry-sponsored studies. She is a widely published author, book editor, and national representative on medical education and inclusion policy.
